The latest update on the Spice and Wolf anime project is bringing some exciting news! They’ve revealed a special visual for August featuring Holo x Summer Festival. And guess what? More visuals will be released at the start of every month! How cool is that?
Passione is animating this new Anime, a remake of the popular anime and the best thing is that the original anime’s main cast is returning and scheduled to premiere in 2024.
The visual’s theme is “Fireworks are wonderful, but why could you watch me too?” Intriguing, right? The full title of this new Spice and Wolf adventure is “Spice and Wolf: merchant meets the wise wolf“.
Takeo Takahashi is the chief director, Hijiri Sanpei is directing and the fantastic Kevin Penkin is in charge of the music. The trailer is out too, check it out below!
For those who are unfamiliar with Spice and Wolf:
The Spice and Wolf is written by Isuna Hasekura and illustrated by Jyuu Ayakura and it is based on a Japanese light novel series. The light novel ran from 2006 to 2019 with total 22 of its volumes. There is also a manga adaptation by Keito Koume that ran from September 2007 to December 2017. Oh, and there’s a sequel novel called “Wolf and Parchment” written by Hasekura and illustrated by Hidori, which is still ongoing.
The story of the Spice and Wolf revolves around:
A traveling merchant Kraft Lawrence, who meets a wolf goddess named Holo. She takes the form of a beautiful girl with wolf ears and a tail. Holo’s tired of her countryside duties and makes a deal with Lawrence to use her wisdom and charm to boost his profits in exchange for traveling with him.
Sounds like a unique journey, right? But having an ancient goddess as a companion might bring some wild adventures!
