The wait is finally over, the first trailer for DAN DA DAN Season 2 has been released, promising Okarun, Momo, and the gang even more intense and insane battles. It will premiere in theaters as DAN DA DAN: Evil Eye in May or June before the new season is available on streaming platforms. The regular streaming will start on July 3.

Studio Science SARU is back to animate the series, with Fuga Yamashiro directing. Hiroshi Seko handles the series composition, and Naoyuki Onda is on board as the character designer. Both Crunchyroll and Netflix, which streamed the first season, have confirmed they’ll also stream the sequel.

About DAN DA DAN
The DAN DA DAN manga, created by Yukinobu Tatsu, has been serialized on Shueisha’s Shonen Jump+ platform since 2021. The anime has consistently been a fan-favorite, often topping weekly rankings – even grabbing the #1 spot twice. We also had the chance to interview both the Japanese and English voice casts. On the Japanese side, we spoke with Shion Wakayama (Momo’s voice actress) and director Fuga Yamashiro. Representing the English dub, we chatted with Abby Trott (Momo) and AJ Beckles (Okarun).
DAN DA DAN: Story Overview
The story revolves around the two high schoolers Momo Ayase and Ken Takakura.
Momo comes from a family of spirit mediums, and Ken is a strong occultist. After a supernatural showdown goes wrong, Ken (who takes on the nickname “Okarun”) is cursed and gains yokai powers. Along the way, they meet Aira -another cursed soul and eventually Jiji joins their misfit team. (Yeah, there’s definitely a pattern here.)
