One Piece Netflix Live-Action Cast Explores Birthplace in Special Video with Luffy Actor!

Hey guys wassup? Did you know The Official Netflix’s One Piece Twitter account released a special video today, Giving a brief tour of Shuisha’s editorial division with Iñaki Godoy, who plays the live-action of Luffy.

Brings a behind the scenes look at the One Piece studio and he was treated with respect by the staff members. He also got the chance to speak with Editor in Chief Hiroyuki Nakano, he said “You are the real Luffy!” and leave Iñaki Godoy stunned.

The original artwork from the very first One Piece episode, from 1997, is presented in the special video, which is really the highlight of the program and Its like a piece of history. And before ending the video, Iñaki takes a moment to thank everyone for their efforts over the years and says,

I’ll do my best to make you all proud!

the One Piece live-action premieres exclusively on Netflix on August 31, 2023.

The cast for this live-action includes:

  • Iñaki Godoy as Monkey D. Luffy
  • Emily Rudd as Nami
  • Mackenyu as Roronoa Zoro
  • Jacob Romero Gibson as Usopp
  • Taz Skylar as Sanji
  • Colton Osorio’s gonna be young Luffy.

that’s not all. Shanks will be played by Peter Gadiot, while Koby will be played by Morgan Davies, Alvida by Ilia Isorel’s Paulino, Helmeppo by Aidan Scott, Buggy by Jeff Ward, Arlong by McKinley Belcher III, and Garp by Vincent Regan.

And there’s even more cast goodness:

  • Alexander Maniatis as Klahadore
  • Steven Ward as Mihawk
  • Craig Fairbrass as Chef Zeff
  • Langley Kirkwood as Captain Morgan

Now, here’s the scoop on the show – The East-Blue Saga from the One Piece manga will be adapted into live-action, and it will “broaden from there. The show’s writer Matt Owens, is pumped to take us on an even greater adventure and you know what? Eiichiro Oda, the genius behind One Piece, insisted on not launching the series until he was fully satisfied.

Netflix’s got the exclusive rights to stream this series and its being produced by Tomorrow Studios, which is a cool partnership between Marty Adelstein and ITV Studios.

For those who are unfamiliar with the One Piece:

One Piece is this rad Japanese manga series created by Eiichiro Oda. It’s been running in Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump magazine since July 1997, and by March 2023, they’ve gathered up 105 tankobon volumes.
