It was announced before the start of the Ichigo Production Fan Festival 2023 that new details regarding the anime series would be revealed there. It announces that Oshi no Ko season 2 will premiere in 2024.

However, the anime did not specify when the series will debut. Oshi no Ko season 2 will so likely air later in the year, in the fall of 2024

As per the teaser, the rivalry between Kana Arima and Akane Kurokawa is clearly going to be the main focus of the upcoming season. But their feelings for Aqua are just as much a part of their rivalry as their pasts and careers.

Meanwhile, Aqua Hoshino intends to leverage the Stage Play project to build a relationship with the Lala Lai Theatrical Company actors to find out the identity of his biological father, the person responsible for his mother Ai Hoshino’s death.

Plot: Oshi no Ko

For those who are unfamiliar with Oshi no Ko, the story as follows:

Aqua and Ruby are the twin children of a popular idol, Ai, from the idol group B-Komachii. Sadly, an obsessed fan murdered her when her career was at its peak. Therefore, Aqua decided to find his biological father, the person responsible for his mother’s death.

The plot twist is that, in their past lives as Sarina Tendouji and Dr. Gorou Amamiya, respectively, Aqua and Ruby were fans of Ai. They remember their previous memories when they are reborn as Ai’s children.

About: Oshi no Ko

Written by manga author Aka Akasaka and illustrated by Mengo Yokoyari, Oshi no Ko debuted in Shueisha’s Weekly Young Jump in April 2020. Since its serialization, the manga has amassed 13 tankōbon volumes and received an anime adaptation in Spring 2023, subsequently announcing a second season.
