Naruto Anime Special Episodes Delayed for Quality Improvement: New Release Date Awaited!

Hey guys, what’s up? Did you know? The official Naruto website just made an announcement about the release date of the four episode anime on August 29, 2023. They have decided to delay its release date in order to improve its quality. Originally it was planned for September 3 2023 release. The new release date is still to be determined.

In place of the new episodes on September 3, selected episodes from “Boruto: Naruto Next Generations” will be aired. Here is the full statement from the staff regarding the delay:

[“NARUTO” 20th anniversary commemorative completely new animation] was scheduled to be broadcast continuously for 4 weeks from 17:30 on Sunday, September 3, 2023, but as a 20th anniversary work, We have made the decision to postpone the broadcast due to the further improvement of the quality of this work, which will be produced for the first time in about 6 years and 5 months.

We sincerely apologize to all the fans who have been looking forward to the broadcast. Regarding the new broadcast schedule, we will announce it on the official website and various SNS as soon as it is decided.

In addition, regarding the scheduled schedule for the new broadcast, we will broadcast the masterpiece selection of the TV animation “BORUTO-Boruto-NARUTO NEXT GENERATIONS”. We will do our best to make it a work that meets everyone’s expectations, so we appreciate your understanding.

For the first time in almost 6 years, these brand-new Naruto episodes have been made as part of the 20th-anniversary celebration. The opening and closing themes for these four episodes will be performed by the well-known Japanese rock band FLOW.

For the opening, FLOW will deliver a special 20th anniversary version of their song “GO!!!. While the ending theme will be a captivating cover of “Viva★Rock” by ORANGE RANGE as interpreted by FLOW.

Naruto, Based on Masashi Kishimoto’s manga series of the same name, the Naruto anime first aired on October 32002. The original Naruto series had 220 episodes and ran from 2002 to 2007. Then came Naruto: Shippuden, which aired until 2017 with a total of 500 episodes.

The story is going to continue with “Boruto: Naruto Next Generations”. The manga “Naruto” which ran from 1999 to 2014 in Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump and its chapters were collected into 72 tankobon volumes, had a significant impact on his admirers all over the world.

The series is based on two one-shot manga by Kishimoto: Karakuri (1995), which earned Kishimoto an honorable mention in Shueisha’s monthly Hop Step Award the following year, and Naruto (1997).
