On Sunday, the official Boruto: Naruto Next Generations website announced that four new episodes of Naruto will be released on September 3, 2023, as part of an upcoming anime project. The animation production for the upcoming episodes will be handled by Studio Pierrot. This project was initially announced earlier this year and has generated much anticipation among fans. As a tribute to the 20th anniversary of the series, three visuals were unveiled in October 2022, adding to the excitement.
In October of the previous year, Studio Pierrot uploaded a commemorative tribute video on their official YouTube page to honor Naruto’s 20th anniversary. The video showcases re-animated scenes from both Naruto and Naruto Shippuden, featuring some of the beloved opening theme songs that have captured the hearts of fans over the years. The Naruto manga series, written and illustrated by Kishimoto, was serialized in Weekly Shonen Jump magazine from 1999 to 2014. With a total of 72 volumes, the series has sold over 250 million copies worldwide, making it one of the most successful manga series of all time. VIZ Media acquired the English license for Naruto in 2003 and has since published all the volumes, including three separate box sets that complete the entire series.
