hey guys wassup? did you know about the latest news on Toho’s official Twitter account? They just announced that Naoko Yamada’s newest feature film “Kimi no Iro” has been delayed to 2024. Originally, it was scheduled to release out in the fall of 2023.
Along with the announcement, a new trailer with the new release date was released as well.
At Science SARU, The movie is directed by Naoko Yamada with Reiko Yoshida as the scriptwriter and Kensuke Ushio will be composing the music
Naoko Yamada, the talented Japanese film director and a animator, worked in some fantastic anime series and movies like: A Silent Voice, K-On!, Tamako Market, Blue Bird and Liz
She worked on The Heike Story in 2021 and it aired in January 2022 on Japanese televisions. Her unique style has brought her many awards & worldwide recognition. She also made history when she joined Kyoto Animation as one of the studio’s youngest directors, landing the position barely 4 years after graduating from college.
For those who are unfamiliar with Kimi no Iro, The plot is described as:
A high school student named Totsuko, at a mission school in Nagasaki City. She has a special ability to see people’s emotions in colors – happy, sad, peaceful, and frightened colors. In order to protect her family and friends not to get “colours” darkened, she is careful and tells lies to make the situation better. Then, in the corner of the city, at a second-hand bookstore, Totsuko meets a beautiful girl. Together with this radiant girl and a music-loving boy, they form a band and start playing the music that’s close to their hearts—the music of their youth..
