The FUNA light novel serves as the inspiration for the anime I Shall Survive Using Potions, which first became well-known in 2015 after being published on the Shosetsuka ni Naro website. The story follows:
Kaoru Nagase the protagonist of the story, who gets herself into a difficult situation after a mistake by the supervisor watching over Earth. She is reincarnated in a new universe therefore she needs some extraordinary powers to make the most of her predicament. She has now the ability to concoct potions at will with any effect she chooses. She also gains access to a magical item box, the capacity to comprehend and communicate in all languages and her fifteen-year-old body. With these newly acquired skills, Kaoru sets out on an exciting quest to establish a solid life in this strange new world.
