In this updated Neuvillette build guide for Genshin Impact 5.2, we will learn how you can maximize Neuvillette’s damage capabilities by equipping him with the best weapons, artifact sets, and teammates. Neuvillette in Genshin Impact is a 5-star Hydro Catalyst character who excels at on-field Hydro DPS playstyle. He does a solid amount of damage and has a tonne of team composition.

Thanks to his Hydro element, Neuvillette can be played in Vaporize, Freeze, Electro-Charged, Bloom, Hyperbloom, Mono-Hydro, and more. If you’ve recently pulled for Neuvillette and want to learn to play him optimally, read on. This guide will cover the most popular Neuvillette teams, playstyles, and equipment.

This guide is updated for Genshin Impact version 5.2.

TL;DR, He’s an on-field character with little to no support capabilities. Hence, we recommend a hyper-carry playstyle and build for Neuvillette.

That said, here’s a quick Neuvillette build guide for Genshin Impact 5.2:

Quick Neuvillette build guideRecommendations are in Bold
Best Weapons for NeuvilletteTome of the Eternal Flow, Surf’s Up, Sacrificial Jade, Lost Prayer to the Sacred Winds, Cashflow Supervision, Ash-Graven Drinking Horn, Prototype Amber, Kagura’s Verity
Best Artifacts for Neuvillette4-piece Marechaussee Hunter
4-piece Heart of Depth
4-piece Wanderer’s Troupe
4-piece Nymph’s Dream
Recommended Artifacts Main StatsSands: HP%
Goblet: Hydro Damage%/HP%
Circlet: Crit Rate/Crit Damage
Artifact Sub-stats priority1. Crit Damage
2. Crit Rate/HP%
3. Energy Recharge
Talent priorityNormal Attack > Elemental Skill = Elemental Burst
Level up recommendationLevel up to 90

Since Neuvillette in Genshin Impact scales off of HP, it is recommended to level him up to Level 90. Additionally, crowing his Normal Attack talent is worth the resources. For weapons, any weapon that grants him high Crit Damage is recommended, as he already gains a lot of Crit Rate stat thanks to the Marechaussee Hunter artifact set.

Neuvillette build guide: How to play Neuvillette in Genshin Impact

Even though Genshin Impact introduced a Hydro Catalyst hyper carry like Mualani, Neuvillette remains a top-tier DPS choice in Genshin Impact, thanks to his straightforward playstyle and staggering damage output.

Neuvillette relies on his enhancedCharged Attack to deal the majority of his damage. His Charged Attacks take four seconds to charge and fire a hydro-canon that deals damage in a straight line. That said, you can easily circumvent this four-second charging time by absorbing Sourcewater Droplets generated by his Skill and Burst.

His skill generates three Sourcewater Droplets while the burst generates six. As a result, you can expect to launch three to four enhanced Charged Attacks per rotation. Here is what your general rotation should look like:

Skill > Team > Charged Attack > Burst > Charged Attack x 2 > Repeat.

4-Piece Marechaussee Hunter

Marechaussee Hunter provides a huge boost to Neuvillette’s Crit Rate, making it easier to focus on his Crit Damage stat to maximize his damage. Moreover, the 15% Charged Attack damage bonus from the two pieces also helps Neuvillette deal consistent damage.

Overall, I recommend going the extra mile to get this set. Simply put HP%, Hydro Damage%, and Crit Damage to delete enemies that come your way.

4-Piece Heart of Depth

This set provides a decent Hydro Damage bonus and Charged Attack bonus, and can be a solid placeholder on Neuvillette while you farm Marechaussee Hunter.

However, it falls behind Marechaussee Hunter because of how easy Marechaussee makes building a solid Crit ratio on Neuvillette.

2-Piece mix-ups and honorable mentions

You can also mix two-piece sets that boost Charged Attack damage or grant Hydro Damage bonuses like Nymph’s Dream and 2-piece Heart of Depth.

Wanderer Troupe and Guilded Dream also work fine for Neuvillette in Hyperbloom or Nilou Bloom team comps.

Neuvillette build guide: Top 5 Weapons for Neuvillette in Genshin Impact

Tome of the Eternal Flow

Neuvillette’s signature would undoubtedly be his best-in-slot. Tome of the Eternal Flow grants Neuvillette a tonne of Crit Damage while also bringing HP% and Charged Attack damage bonus to the table.

On top of that, there’s some Energy Regeneration also built into this weapon to lower his ER needs.

Overall, this is the best weapon for Neuvillette and actually worth pulling if you’ve wishes to spare.

Sacrificial Jade

Sacrificial Jade from Battle Pass is another great choice on Neuvillette, second to only his signature. This weapon offers Crit Rate% and HP% as its sub-stats that aid Neuvillette in maximizing his personal damage.

However, since you get a lot of Crit Rate from the Marechaussee Hunter set, building a proper CR:CD ratio could become a problem.

Lost Prayer to the Sacred Winds, Cashflow Supervision, and Surf’s Up

All these 5-Star weapons Crit weapons perform better than the four-stars, except Sacrificial Jade. They are a decent stat-stick for Neuvillette and maximize his Crit stats.

None of them is a close match with his signature, except Surf’s Up. However, you can use these weapons if you have them as they’re still better than most four-star options.

Ash-Graven Drinking Horn

If you grabbed the event weapon from version 5.0, then congratulations. It is the one of the best free-to-play weapon for non-Furina Neuvillette teams. While the stats are the same as Prototype Amber, it also deals an instance of AOE damage every 15 seconds.

This damage scales off of Neuvillette’s HP, giving it an edge over the Prototype Amber in terms of damage.

Prototype Amber

This weapon grants HP% equivalent to Ash-Graven and heals whenever Neuvillette performs an Elemental Bursts.

It’s a recommended option for Furina teams where it helps provide Fanfare points and offset some HP loss caused by Furina’s skill.

This list includes all the teams for Neuvillette that I had great success clearing Spiral Abyss. Do note that the team synergies are according to my playstyle and testing, so your experience can vary.

Neuvillette Hypercarry

This playstyle revolves around maximizing Neuvillette’s damage by adding various teammates that buff Neuvillette or enable him to stay on the field for longer periods. Here are a few example team comps for a hyper carry Neuvillette playstyle in Genshin Impact:

  • Neuvillette, Kazuha, Furina, Xilonen
  • Neuvillette, Kazuha/Xilonen, Furina, Fischl
  • Neuvillette, Kazuha/Xilonen, Yae Miko, Zhongli
  • Neuvillette, Kazuha, Xilonen, Yae Miko
  • Neuvillette, Lynette, Furina, Xilonen/Kachina
  • Neuvillette, Furina, Jean, Zhongli/Layla/Baizhu

Neuvillette Vaporize

Although not as popular as hypercarry teams due to the lack of good off-field Pyro applicators, this team can get the job done if you’ve a well-built Xiangling. Here are a few example teams:

  • Neuvillette, Xiangling, Xilonen, Nahida
  • Neuvillette, Xiangling, Xilonen, Emilie
  • Neuvillette, Furina, Xiangling, Nahida
  • Neuvillette, Bennett, Xiangling, Zhongli

Electro Charged, Nilou Bloom, and Hyperbloom

Neuvillette, thanks to his Hydro element, is a very solid driver for Electro-Charged, Bloom, and Hyperbloom teams. I personally enjoy him a lot in Hyperbloom, as it deals solid single-target damage as well as working great in AOE situations. Here are a few team comps for these playstyles:

Electro-Charged

  • Neuvillette, Fischl/Yae Miko/Raiden Shogun, Kazuha, Furina
  • Neuvillette, Kokomi/Mona, Furina, Raiden Shogun
  • Neuvillette, Xilonen, Furina, Beidou

Hyperbloom

  • Neuvillette, Nahida, Raiden Shogun, Collei/Dendro Traveler
  • Neuvillette, Kuki Shinobu, Nahida, Collei/Dendro Traveler
  • Neuvillette, Beidou, Fishcl, Nahida
  • Neuvillette, Beidou, Collei, Yae Miko
  • Neuvillette, Nahida, Raiden Shogun, Furina
  • Neuvillette, Nahida, Raiden Shogun, Xilonen

Nilou Bloom

Bloom is honestly only worth it when played with Nilou. Although you can try other bloom teams, the damage isn’t that great. Here are a few combinations with Neuvillette in Nilou Bloom teams:

  • Neuvillette, Nilou, Nahida, Dendro Traveler
  • Neuvillette, Nilou, Nahida, Collei
  • Neuvillette, Nilou, Baizhu, Nahida
  • Neuvillette, Nilou, Baizhu, Dendro Traveler
  • Neuvillette, Nilou, Yaoyao, Nahida
  • Neuvillette, Nilou, Yaoyao, Collei

Neuvillette build guide: Are Neuvillette’s Constellations worth it?

C1 and C6 are best Constellations for Neuvillette (Credits: Hoyoverse)

Neuvillette is already an amazing DPS character at C0, but he gets easily interrupted. The Constellation 1 (C1) fixes that while providing one stack of Past Draconic Glories (A1 passive).

This means Neuvillette can easily get the Charged Attack damage bonus while eliminating the need for a shielder in his team comps.

C2 is a simple damage boost to his kit, C3 increases Normal Attack talent level by 3, C4 grants an extra Sourcewater Droplet, and C5 increases Burst talent level by 3.

C6 is an interesting one, as it allows Neuvillette to extend the duration of his enhanced Charged Attack by 1 second for every Sourcewater Droplet absorbed. For example, absorbing 3 Sourcewater Droplets will increase the duration of his enhanced Charged Attack by 3 seconds.

Moreover, Neuvillette also fires two additional Hydro attacks every 2 seconds, each dealing damage equal to 10% of his Max HP.

Should you go for C1 Neuvillette or his signature weapon?

Neuvillette’s Constellation 1 is among the best Constellations in the game because of all the quality of life and extra damage it provides.

So, if you’ve to choose between Neuvillette’s weapon and his first Constellation, I recommend picking up his first Constellation over the weapon.

Neuvillette build guide: Is Neuvilltte worth pulling in Genshin Impact v5.2?

Neuvillette is still one of the best characters in Genshin Impact (Credits: Hoyoverse)
Neuvillette is still one of the best characters in Genshin Impact (Credits: Hoyoverse)

Neuvilltte lives up to his status as the Dragon Sovereign by bringing amazing personal damage and high team flexibility. He scales off of HP which makes him quite easy to build and get started with.

He’s comfortable to play and still the best unit when it comes to AOE scenarios. Overall, if you’ve pulls to spare, pulling Neuvillette is one of the best decisions you can make for your account from a meta-perspective.
