Hey guys, great news for all the Black Clover fans out there! The official Twitter account of Netflix anime just dropped a brand-new character promo video for the upcoming Black Clover movie, called Black Clover: Sword of the Wizard King. And guess what? It was released today, on June 16, 2023!
This character promo video focuses on Conrad, who is not only a former Wizard King but also the main antagonist of the movie. We’ve already seen character promos for Asta, Yuno, and other former Wizard Kings like Edward Avalaché, Princia Funnybunny, and Jester Garandros.
Now, mark your calendars because the highly anticipated Black Clover movie is set to hit the screens on June 16, 2023. And the best part? It will be available for all you amazing fans worldwide on Netflix.
Remember, this movie is an original anime creation and doesn’t follow the storyline of the manga.
Initially, the movie was supposed to release on March 31, 2023, but due to the unfortunate circumstances surrounding the COVID-19 pandemic, it got delayed by three months.
The movie is being directed by Ayataka Tanemura at Studio Pierrot. The screenplay is written by Johnny Otoda and Ai Orii, with Itsuko Takeda serving as the character designer and Minako Seki taking charge of the music. Yuki Tabata, the creator of Black Clover, is supervising the film and providing original character designs.
For those unfamiliar with the series, Black Clover is a popular manga created by Yūki Tabata. It has been serialized in Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump magazine since February 2015. So far, the manga has been compiled into 34 volumes as of March 2023.
The story revolves around Asta, a young boy who was born without any magical powers in a world where almost everyone possesses some form of magic. Together with his fellow mages from the Black Bulls, Asta aims to become the next Wizard King.
The manga was first adapted into an original video animation produced by Xebec Zwei in 2017, followed by a television anime series produced by Pierrot, which aired in Japan on TV Tokyo from October 2017 to March 2021.
