Hey guys, what’s up? Did you know? The official website for the upcoming anime adaptation of Ryoko Kui’s Dungeon Meshi (Delicious in Dungeon) treated fans with its first trailer on October 4, 2023, giving a sneak peek into the series’ opening theme song.
The opening theme, titled “Sleep Walking Orchestra,” was performed by BUMP OF CHICKEN, who shared their excitement about being part of this project. The band expressed their deep love for the manga, admitting they had been avid readers since the very beginning. When they got the chance to create the theme song, they felt incredibly honored. They poured all their enthusiasm into the music, eager to capture the unique world and story of Dungeon Meshi.
The band also mentioned their anticipation for the opening video, even though dungeon cuisine seems a bit daunting. However, their curiosity piqued, and they expressed a desire to taste the peculiar dishes portrayed in the anime.
Excitement is brewing among fans as the anime is set to premiere in January 2024 and will run for two consecutive cours until June 2024.
Alongside this announcement, the official website revealed three new cast members:
Saori Hayami as Falin
Akira Miki as Namari
Shinji Kawada as Shuro
and the other cast includes:
- Asuna Tomari as Chilchuck
- Hiroshi Naka as Senshi
- Kentarō Kumagai as Laios
- Sayaka Senbongi as Marcille
The creative team behind the scenes includes Yoshihiro Miyajima as the director at studio TRIGGER, Kimiko Ueno handling series scripts, Naoki Takeda managing character designs, and Yasunori Mitsuda composing the music.
