In modern-day Japan, there are unique “rental” services that offer companionship in various forms, including friendships, parental figures, and even temporary girlfriends. After experiencing a heart-wrenching betrayal by his ex-girlfriend, Kazuya, an unlucky college freshman, decides to give this service a shot in his desperation. Little does he know that renting an emotional connection can be much more complex than he imagined. Complications arise when his new “girlfriend” keeps her side job a secret, leading to unexpected twists and turns as their lives intertwine. As family, school, and personal matters begin to crumble, this 21st-century manga romantic comedy portrays the endearing story of an innocent boy and a determined girl crossing paths.
