reat news for fans of “The Dangers in My Heart” anime! The series is set to return for a second season, which is scheduled to air in January 2024. This exciting announcement came right after the premiere of the final episode of the first season in Japan. To add to the excitement, an announcement trailer for Season 2 has been released.
The first season of the adaptation debuted in April this year, and it was brought to life by Shin-Ei Animation studio. Hiroaki Akagi took on the role of director, while Jukki Hanada handled the scriptwriting, and Masato Katsumata adapted the character designs from the manga. The voices of Anna Yamada and Kyotaro Ichikawa were brilliantly portrayed by Hina Yomiya and Shun Horie, respectively. Additionally, Season 2 features an illustration by Sakurai.
“The Dangers in My Heart” anime is based on a manga written and illustrated by Norio Sakurai, which has been ongoing since 2018. English-speaking fans will be glad to know that Seven Seas Entertainment has licensed the title. The first season of the anime is currently available for streaming on HIDIVE and Bilibili. Speaking of the latter, they describe the series as follows:
“Kyoutaro Ichikawa may seem like an ordinary middle schooler, but his heart is filled with murderous fantasies. It’s no wonder that Anna Yamada, the popular girl in class, constantly occupies his thoughts as the person he wants to kill the most. One day, while reading alone in his favorite school library, Ichikawa unintentionally finds himself in a chance encounter with Yamada, who sneaks in to enjoy her favorite candies and sweets. Through their conversations, Ichikawa realizes just how quirky Yamada is and reluctantly finds himself cheering her on from the sidelines. Despite Ichikawa’s agitated responses, Yamada can’t help but playfully tease him. As they continue to interact in various heartwarming ways, their distant connection evolves into something more meaningful than mere library acquaintances. Ichikawa may eventually come to understand that his violent fantasies have transformed into something entirely different.”
