The latest Valorant patch, 7.05, is here with some subtle tweaks to agents and the Competitive system. Let’s break down what’s new in these Valorant 7.05 patch notes.
In the previous 7.04 patch, Episode 7 Act 2 shook up the game. Jett took a hit with significant nerfs, and we got a brand-new map called Sunset. Players had a week to get accustomed to Sunset, and now it’s joining the competitive map pool in Patch 7.05.
But that’s not all. This update brings a buff for the controller agent, Astra, and a new rule for Ascendant players in Competitive matches.
First off, Astra has had a tough time because she couldn’t hear what’s happening around her when in her Astral form. But in Valorant patch 7.05, Astra gets an upgrade. She can now hear everything around her, even when in Astral form. This change lets her gather info on enemy movements and share it with her team.
Now, for competitive play. Riot is cracking down on rank boosting through bots and real players. So, Ascendant and higher-ranked players can only invite Platinum or higher-ranked players to their competitive parties. This move aims to prevent rank boosting abuse with bots.
Also, the new map, Sunset, makes its way into the competitive map rotation. So, here’s the updated map lineup: Ascent, Bind, Breeze, Haven, Lotus, Split, and Sunset.
These are the key changes in Valorant 7.05, brought to you by Riot Games.
Competitive Updates:
In response to the rise in competitive rank boosting using bots and real players, we’ve implemented restrictions. Now, Ascendant players and above can only invite Platinum-ranked players and above to their competitive parties. We’re actively monitoring and will ban any accounts involved in suspicious behavior.
Agent Updates:
Astra
Going in and out of Astral form can leave Astra exposed to attackers without information on her surroundings. We’re improving her Astral Form (X) ability. Astra can now hear everything happening around her physical body while in Astral form. This gives her more control and awareness.
Map Updates:
Sunset
Sunset joins the competitive map rotation.
Competitive map rotation includes Sunset, Breeze, Ascent, Haven, Bind, Split, and Lotus.
Bug Fixes:

Agent:
- Fixed a bug with a small audio deadzone in Astra’s Cosmic Divide (X).
- Fixed a bug where Deadlock’s Sonic Sensor (Q) triggered with Gekko’s Wingman (Q) nearby.
- Fixed a bug where other Agents didn’t animate while moving through Omen’s Dark Cover (E).
- Fixed a bug where Cypher’s Trapwire (C) sometimes didn’t activate on stairs.
Player Behavior:
- Fixed an issue where players chat-restricted by Real-Time Interventions were also disconnected from text chat.
- Fixed an issue where no warning message appeared for conflicting keybinds in team or party voice chat.
- Fixed an issue where switching between Unrated and Competitive queues replaced the ranked restriction timer.
- Fixed an issue where creating an Agent Profile reset Push-to-Talk keybinds to their defaults.
That wraps up everything in the Valorant 7.05 patch.
