Spoilers for One Piece chapter 1098 have just come out. They confirm that the story will continue exploring Bartholomew Kuma and Ginny’s past. In the last chapter, we saw them joining the Revolutionary Army after Dragon and Ivankov removed the bad ruler from Sorbet Kingdom. But the chapter ended with the sad news that Ginny was kidnapped.
More importantly, the next chapter, titled “Bonney’s Birth,” will shift its focus to Jewelry Bonney. Throughout the Egghead arc, people have speculated about Bonney, like her real age and if she’s a clone of Ginny. This chapter will hopefully answer all those questions.
One Piece chapter 1098 finally tells us who Bonney’s parents are.
In One Piece chapter 1098, recent spoilers suggest Ginny’s life took a dark turn when she was ambushed. The manga reveals she was forced into marriage with a Celestial Dragon after being kidnapped. This lasted for two long years. She was eventually freed, but only because she got a deadly disease.
One Piece chapter 1098 reveals that in her final moments, Ginny reached out to Kuma. During this, Kuma figured out where Ginny was and teleported to her side. But by the time he got there, Ginny had already passed away. Beside her was a baby named Bonney, who also had the same disease. Kuma then took on the responsibility of raising Bonney on his own.
Spoilers also reveal that in One Piece chapter 1098, things went bad again as King Becori returned to Sorbet Kingdom.
Even though Kuma isn’t Bonney’s real father, the strong connection between them is clear in how Bonney sees him as her real father. This bond is even more apparent when she gets upset upon seeing the Pacifista modeled after Kuma.
Her journey to Egghead was to bring back her father’s humanity and get revenge. She even attacked Gorosei Saturn in her quest for vengeance.
This chapter also gives us clues about why Saint Jaygarcia Saturn might have called Bonney a child, as it’s revealed she has the bloodline of the Celestial Dragons.
We are ready for this emotional chapter, but there’s some sad news too: One Piece will take a short one-week break after chapter 1098. It’s surprising to get three chapters in a row, considering Oda’s recent work pace. But the good news is that the chapters after breaks tend to be really good.
